Megan Boken was known for her skills on the volleyball court in St. Louis, and was a resident of Wheaton, Illinois. The beautiful blonde had recently moved back to St. Louis for a university alumni game and to search for a job when the horrible happened. The young woman was shot in an alleged robbery attempted in St. Louis last week, leaving behind a grieving family. Boken was a key player in the 2006 Class AA championship at her high school, and also played volleyball as an essential player on the St. Louis University team. She was on her way to an alumni match when she was killed.
At present, investigators are combing the city in search of Boken’s murderer. Police have been questioning a person of interest, but are reluctant to call him a subject at this present time. Law enforcement officers say that the person who killed Boken was attempting to rob her. The police have announced that they will grant a $30,000 reward to anyone who can help to catch her killer and bring him to hail. The gunman is allegedly a black male with a medium complexion. He has been described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, and has short hair. The police say that he was wearing a dark gray shirt, khaki pants and white tennis shoes at the time of the shooting.
While issuing rewards for criminals may sound effective, it can also create a lot of misconceptions. People who resemble the murderer in a case and happen to be suspicious can be arrested and tried for crimes they didn’t commit. If you have been targeted as a person of interest, it is suggested that you get a tenacious defense lawyer on your side right away. You want someone to come alongside you and insist that you did not act in an offensive or illegal way. Talk to someone at our Chicago law firm today to get the representation you need!
